QC Avionix two-stage battery charger was designed specifically for 12 or 24 volt batteries. The charger delivers up to 1.5 Amps and will taper to approximately 1.2 Amps until the battery is fully charged. Upon reaching full charge the charger automatically switches to float mode. Float mode safely maintains the battery at full charge without overcharging. The charger can be left connected to a battery that can handle float voltages of 2.20 to2.22 volts per cell indefinitely without damaging either the battery or the charger.
The selector switch OFF/ Polarity Check / RESET position allows you to safely connect to the battery with no current or spark, check that the battery is connected properly and reset the charger. Just connect the clips to the battery, see that the green light is illuminated and select the battery voltage of your battery. Three indicator lights show battery condition. The red light indicates a short circuit or defective battery. The yellow light indicates the battery is charging and the green light indicates the charger is in float mode and the battery is fully charged.
The charger is enclosed in a sturdy metal enclosure with the flexibility needed to accommodate planes at tie-downs or nestled comfortably in a hangar. The charger box can be remote from the battery with the optional extension cable.
